Thank you for taking the time to view our line of Inked Wood Flutes. These Beautifully Crafted Hand Inked Bamboo Wood Flutes are made by us at our home in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. We have spent the last 35 Years making and selling our distinctive style of Dark Bamboo Wood Flutes, Walking Sticks and Walking Stick Flutes at Juried Craft Shows and Music Festivals throughout the Northeastern United States. We are on the road over 80 days a year.

The Inked Design (See Designs) is drawn in a band around the top of the flute between the mouth hole and the top finger hole of the bamboo wood flute. My wife,Linda, first engraves the Designs onto the wood flutes then Hand Inks each design using Full Color Permanent Inks. She then inlays small Austrian Crystals into the wood flutes to give the designs a bit of sparkle. A durable waterproof finish is then applied to the exterior of the bamboo wood flutes for protection.

We recommend that beginners start with a bamboo flute that is in either the key of 'A' or 'G'. The key of 'G' is a very common key and is great for playing along with other instruments. It has a slightly deeper tone than the key of ‘A’. The finger holes are a bit closer in the 'A' flute, a consideration for small hands. Either flute would be a fine choice for a beginner.

Remember, the longer bamboo wood flute the deeper the tone but the more difficult the finger stretch. Most folks start with smaller wood flutes and when they feel comfortable playing them move on to one of the longer bamboo wood flutes.

Shipping and Handling charges are included in the quoted price of our Wood Flutes. We Ship using USPS Priority Mail and the Flutes usually arrive within 3 to 4 working days (continental U.S.A.). Orders shipped beyond the continental U.S. require extra postage. If extra postage is due we will notify you by email of the extra charges before shipping.

INKED BAMBOO WOOD FLUTES

Different species of wood give wood flutes a distinctive resonance and timbre that is dependent on the type of wood used in its making. Bamboo Wood Flutes have a very distinct mellow, resonating tone that is peculiar only to bamboo wood. The tone is absolutely beautiful.

All of our Bamboo Wood Flutes are Transverse Flutes, which simply means that they are side blown wood flutes similar to a metal Flute. We Individually Concert Tune our wood flutes to a Major Scale and they play a range of up to two octaves. These are well tuned bamboo wood flutes that are great for playing along with other instruments. Lots of fun for jamming!
