Thank you for taking the time to view our line of Hand Inked Bamboo Wood Flutes. These Beautifully Crafted Bamboo Wood Flutes are made by us at our home in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. We have spent the last 35 Years making and selling our distinctive style of Dark Bamboo Wood Flutes, Walking Sticks and Walking Stick Flutes at Juried Craft Shows and Music Festivals throughout the Northeastern United States.

Our Hand Inked Wood Flutes are side blown flutes and are tuned to a major scale. Each of our Inked Wood Flutes has a Design (See Designs) drawn in a band around the top of the bamboo wood flute. My wife, Linda, etches the Design onto the bamboo wood then Hand Inks each design using Full Color Permanent Inks. Free Playing Instructions are included with each purchase of a Hand Inked Wood Flute.

Shipping and Handling charges are included in the quoted price of our Bamboo Wood Flutes. We Ship using USPS Mail and the Flutes usually arrive within 4 to 5 business days (continental U.S.A.). Orders shipped beyond the continental U.S. require extra postage. If extra postage is due we will notify you by email of the charges before shipping.

INKED BAMBOO WOOD FLUTES

Different species of wood give wood flutes a distinctive resonance and timbre that is dependent on the type of wood used in its making. Bamboo Wood Flutes have a very distinct mellow, resonating tone that is peculiar only to bamboo wood. The tone is absolutely beautiful.

All of our Bamboo Wood Flutes are Transverse Flutes, which simply means that they are side blown wood flutes similar to a concert metal Flute. We Individually Tune our Inked Bamboo Wood Flutes to a Major Scale and they play a range of up to two octaves. These are well tuned bamboo wood flutes that are great for playing along with other instruments. Lots of fun for jamming!

The Inked Design is drawn in a band around the top of the flute between the mouth hole and the top finger hole of the bamboo wood flute. My wife, Linda, first etches the Designs (See Designs) into the wood flute then Hand Inks each design using Full Color Permanent Inks. Small Austrian Crystals are then inlaid into the wood flutes at appropriate places to give the design a bit of sparkle. A durable waterproof finish is then applied to the exterior of the bamboo wood flutes for protection.

We do this all day long at the many Craft and Music festivals that we attend.

We recommend that beginners start with a Inked Bamboo Wood Flute that is in either the key of 'A' or 'G'. The key of 'G' is a very common key and is great for playing along with other instruments. It has a slightly deeper tone than the key of ‘A’. The finger holes are a bit closer on the Key of 'A' flute, a consideration for small hands. Either of these Inked Bamboo Wood Flutes would be a fine choice for a beginner.

Remember, the longer the bamboo wood flute the deeper the tone but the more difficult the finger stretch. Start with a smaller Inked Bamboo Wood Flute. When you feel comfortable playing it then move on to one of the longer and deeper sounding wood flutes.
